Welcome New Faculty and Staff

On behalf of the entire Business Office staff of the Department of Statistics, I would like to express how happy we are that you will be joining the Department and we welcome you to the Greater Lafayette community. The business office staff can assist you with the following:

  • Employee benefits information

  • Processing purchasing requisitions and follow-up

  • Payroll questions and processing information

  • Sponsored program proposal budgets and processing information

I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you any of these items or other questions that you may have. You can contact me by phone at (765) 494-1913 or by email at aschragg@purdue.edu.

For faculty, it is never too soon to begin your research program here at Purdue University. We have the experience of working with new faculty on submitting research proposals prior to their start of employment. If you would like to submit a proposal before you are on campus, please feel free to contact me to work out the details.

Let me also take this opportunity to remind you to bring proper identification with you on your next visit to campus or on your first day of work to complete the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) Form I-9 work eligibility form. Please read the linked list of acceptable documents (PDF) and bring the appropriate employment eligibility and identification documents with you. You are unable to begin work without verification of these pieces of identification. Under unique circumstances, the University also offers a one-month salary advance paid back over the first three pay periods. If you are in need of such an advance, please contact me to discuss. I look forward to talking with you soon.

Sincerely,
Alicia Schragg, Business Manager
