Mission

The mission of the Department of Statistics is to provide leadership in the statistical sciences by:

• Research – Advancing theory, methods, and computing to further emerging science and technology
• Teaching – Providing students with the statistical and computational skills necessary to handle complex real-world problems, through innovative courses and teaching technologies
• Outreach – Elevating awareness, enriching education, and strengthening research on campus and in the wider community.
