Professor Rebecca W. Doerge Appointed President's Fellow for Big Data and Simulation

Recognized for her strengths in both administration and research, and familiarity with Big Data and Big Data Science, Professor Rebecca W. Doerge has been appointed President’s Fellow for Big Data and Simulation by Suresh Garimella, Purdue University Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships. The goal of the appointment is to better engage and align Purdue University’s research in the area of Big Data and Simulation. Dr. Doerge is tasked with creating and maintaining partnerships across the many diverse departments at Purdue, as well as with government agencies, and the Midwest Big Data Hub.
President’s Fellows are appointed with the aim of developing knowledgeable faculty in priority research areas at Purdue. The Big Data arena at Purdue University has its foundation and strengths in infrastructure that supports theory, technology and analytic advances that address global societal, business, and environmental issues. The current capabilities in Big Data and Data Science at Purdue University include Infrastructure, Domain Science Research, and research activities that are generating Big Data.
