We are pleased to welcome Dr. Munni Begum, Mr. James Miles, Dr. Zuofeng Shang, Dr. Walid Sharabati, and Dr. Jongwoo Song as visitors of Purdue Statistics this (Fall 2013) semester.
Dr. Munni Begum
Dr. Munni Begum will be visiting the department for the semester (August 12, 2013 to January 5, 2014) as a Visiting Scholar. Dr. Begum is an Associate Professor from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and will be working with Professor Rebecca Doerge and her group on statistical issues in gene network methodologies. She is located in MATH 517.
James Miles
Mr. James Miles will be a Visiting Instructor in Statistics for the semester (August 12, 2013 to January 5, 2014). He will be teaching STAT 472, and his office is HAAS 118.
Dr. Zuofeng Shang
Dr. Zuofeng Shang will be a Visiting Assistant Professor for the academic year (August 12, 2013 to May 18th, 2014). He will be teaching STAT 350 and STAT 416. Dr. Guang Cheng will be his host and they will be working on the development of a local and global asymptotic inference for the smoothing spline estimate. His office is MATH 515.
Dr. Walid Sharabati
Dr. Walid Sharabati will be a Visiting Assistant Professor for the academic year (August 12, 2013 to May 18th, 2014). He will teach STAT 420 and 512, and is located in HAAS 112.
Dr. Jongwoo Song
Dr. Jongwoo Song is on sabbatical from Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea where he is an Associate Professor of Statistics. While at Purdue Statistics this academic year (August 12, 2013 to May 18th, 2014) he will be a Visiting Associate Professor and will be teaching STAT 598. Dr. Songâ??s host will be Dr. Rebecca Doerge. He is located in HAAS 226.
