Congratulations to Tilman Achberger and Douglas Baumann, Ph.D. students in Statistics, on receiving a 2009-2010 Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) Distance Education Incentive Award for the online course STAT 59800 Introduction to Experimental Design. The goal of the TLT Distance Education Incentive Awards Program is to provide support and award Purdue faculty for the development of high-quality distance education courses at Purdue University - West Lafayette. Eligibility requirements for the award include attending a two-day faculty intensive workshop, attending an individual consultation session with TLT staff, and submitting the course for consideration for the award. The online STAT 59800 Introduction to Experimental Design is a new course that will be offered for the first time in Maymester 2010. It was created with the goal of presenting a conceptual understanding of important experimental design principles, specifically targeting graduate students in Life Sciences, Social Sciences, and Behavioral Sciences. This course was deemed to provide a good educational resource for distance education students in the areas of: course design, innovation, effective use of technology tools, assessment of student learning, course content and learner support.
