Department of Statistics Hosts Stat Day

The Department of Statistics hosted "Stat Day" on April 2, 2009. Stat Day is an informal gathering of faculty members and students from the Department of Statistics and colleagues from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University at Bloomington, and University of Notre Dame, with the focus on healthcare related research. Participants shared their healthcare related research through presentations and group discussions from 10:00am until 4:30pm in LWSN 1142. The list of talks and speakers can be found here.

The day culminated with the Myra Samuels Memorial Lecture given by Dr. Hongzhe Li, Professor of Biostatistics, Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The lecture was at 4:30pm in MA 175 and was followed by a reception at 5:30pm in HAAS 111.
