Gundlach Receives IDC Distance Education Incentive Award

Congratulations to Ellen Gundlach on receiving a 2008-2009 Instructional Development Center (IDC) Distance Education Incentive Award for the online STAT 301 Elementary Statistical Methods course. The goal of the IDC Distance Education Incentive Awards Program is to provide support and award Purdue faculty for the development of high-quality distance education courses at Purdue University, West Lafayette. Eligibility requirements for the award include attending a two-day faculty intensive workshop, attending an individual consultation session with an IDC or Office of Continuing Education and Conferences (OCEC) consultant, and submitting the course for consideration for the award. The online STAT 301 Elementary Statistical Methods course was deemed to provide a good educational resource for distance education students in the areas of: course design, innovative and effective use of technology tools, assessment of student learning and course content, and learner support. The course will be showcased at the upcoming Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) Conference on April 21-22, 2009.
