Puri Memorial Lecture which will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 4:30pm in MATH 175. The title of his talk will be "Penalized Linear Unbiased Selection Via Non-Convex Minimization." A reception will precede the seminar at 4:00pm in the Mathematical Sciences Library Lounge.

He is among the most preeminent of theoretical statisticians, having published more than 30 papers in the Annals of Statistics, the Journal of the American Statistical Association, the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Biometrika, and the Annals of Probability. Remarkably for a theoretical statistician, he has also published four papers in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
