Welcome New Faculty and Students

The Department of Statistics would like to welcome two new visiting faculty, Cindelyn G. Eberts and Changsoon Park, as well as three new graduate students to the Department this semester.
Cindelyn G. Eberts joined the Department of Statistics this semester as a Visiting Associate Professor. Professor Eberts received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include product design, experimental aesthetics, and issues in statistical education. She is teaching STAT 502 this semester.
Changsoon Park joined the Department of Statistics this semester as a Visiting Professor. He is visiting from the Department of Statistics, Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea. Professor Park received his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 1984. His recent research interest is the integration of statistical process control and engineering process control. Also he is interested in the implementation of process control techniques to the bioinformatics field. He is teaching STAT 511 this semester.
Currently, the Department of Statistics has 46 faculty members, 18 full and part-time staff members, and 95 graduate students (61 Ph.D. students and 34 M.S. students).
