STATCOM Chairs Open Meeting on Pro Bono Statistics at JSM 2006

STATCOM chaired an open meeting on August 7, 2006 entitled, "Service-oriented Consulting: What Can Students Do in the Community?" at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) in Seattle this year.

STATCOM?s history and current activities, information on how departments at other colleges and universities can get involved in their communities, and details of past projects were discussed. In addition, STATCOM demonstrated the resource materials they developed on service-oriented consulting and discussed the establishment of a nationwide "STATCOM Network".
