Science mourns loss of Dean's Leadership Council member

Jim Greaton, who received his B.S. in Statistics in 1978 and was a member of the Dean's Leadership Council, passed away on June 29 after a long battle with cancer. Jim was vice president for risk management at Sun Life Financial in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. Before joining Sun Life, Jim was vice president and actuary for Keyport Life Insurance Company (1996-2001), director of actuarial valuation for Providian Capital Management (1986-1996), and held various positions at The Equitable Life Assurance Society (1979-1986). He was an active volunteer in his church and community, including working on home building projects such as Habitat for Humanity. Jim is survived by his wife, Cindie, and their two children, Nathaniel and Rachel.
