Fall 2001 Seminar Series

STAT 598E: Statistical Applications in Pharmaceutical Research and Development

Mondays, 4:30 PM, LAEB B222

This special seminar series, which focuses on statistical methods and issues in the pharmaceutical industry, is a joint initiative between the Statistical and Mathematical Sciences Department of Eli Lilly & Company and the Department of Statistics of Purdue University at West Lafayette, Indiana. The lectures will be given by a team of Eli Lilly statisticians.

The goal of the series is to introduce students and faculty at the university to the broad spectrum of issues surrounding the drug development process in a pharmaceutical industry. The gamut of activities covering discovery, development, manufacturing, and marketing of pharmaceutical agents will be discussed. The statistical content of the seminars will be directed to students knowledgeable about statistics as well as the general interested audience.

The series is also offered as a one credit course, labeled STAT 598E, for Fall 2001 at Purdue. The instructor and coordinator is Professor M.E. Bock and the prerequisite is an introductory statistics course. The course meets Mondays, 4:30 PM, in LAEB B222. For further information, please contact Professor Bock by email at mbock@stat.purdue.edu or by phone at 765-494-3141.
