Online Master of Science in Applied Statistics Courses and Curriculum

The 33-credit master’s program can be completed by working professionals in six semesters of consecutive part-time enrollment. Students who are able to take more than one course at a time may complete the program more quickly. These courses will provide graduates with broad knowledge in a wide range of statistical application areas. Please refer to the Applied Statistics Course List for more information.

Foundation Courses | 21 credit hours

  • STAT 58200 | Statistical Consulting and Collaboration
  • STAT 51400 | Design of Experiments
  • STAT 51600 | Basic Probability and Applications OR STAT 51900 | Introduction to Probability
  • STAT 52500 | Intermediate Statistical Methodology
  • STAT 52700 | Introduction to Computing for Statistics OR STAT 54500 Introduction to Computational Statistics
  • STAT 50600 | Statistical Programming and Data Management
  • STAT 52600 | Advanced Statistical Methodology

Core Courses | must have at least 9 credit hours

  • STAT 51300 | Statistical Quality Control
  • STAT 52000 | Time Series and Applications
  • STAT 52200 | Sampling and Survey Techniques
  • STAT 51700 | Statistical Inference OR STAT 52800 Intro to Mathematical Studies

Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics

Certificate course work requires students undertake 12 credit hours from the Master's in Applied Statistics courses listed below. Students are required to take four courses in total. All courses are three credit hours each.
