M.S. and Ph.D. Statistics Degrees with Specialization in Computational Science and Engineering
Both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are available with specialization in Computational Science and Engineering (CS&E). These programs provide students with an opportunity to study Statistics along with computing in a multi-disciplinary environment. The M.S. student in this specialization must meet the usual requirements of the M.S. Degree in Statistics and in addition complete 9 credit hours of selected CS&E courses. For the Ph.D. program the additional requirements are 12 credit hours of selected CS&E courses. Approximately one third of the course load and examinations are from CS and two thirds from Statistics. The general pre-requisites for these programs are a good undergraduate background in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. The CS&E specialization has available a broad range of powerful computing facilities.
