What is Purdue University's code for GRE and TOEFL scores?
The university code for sending GRE and TOEFL scores is 1631. No department code is needed. -
How do I apply for funding?
PhD students are automatically considered for teaching assistant (TA) funding when they apply to the department. Many graduate students in the department are supported by teaching assistantships which provide reductions in tuition and fees to several hundred dollars per semester.
Funding opportunities are not usually available for Spring admissions. Instructions for writing and submitting the essay can be found on Purdue's Graduate On-line Application. -
May I work on two graduate degrees at the same time?
Students are allowed to work on a Ph.D. and a Master's Degree at the same time. They are not allowed to work on two Master's Degrees at the same time. -
How many international and domestic students do you accept every year?
Our department does not have quotas as to how many new international or domestic students we will accept. We usually admit new students as other students graduate from the department. -
Should I send faculty and staff my resume to see if I am qualified to apply for your program?
Generally, such questions cannot be answered without actually looking at your official application materials. Students should see our Admissions web page, for basic guidelines. -
Should I email faculty and staff asking them to take me on as a research or teaching assistant?
Faculty and staff do not offer research assistantships to applicants unless they are accepted to our department. If you are applying to our department, please do not make such requests to faculty and staff. -
Could you please tell me when my application will be processed?
The deadline date for spring applications is October 1st for all students. Applications for spring are usually processed in late October/early November.
The deadline date for fall applications is December 1st. Applications for fall are usually processed by April 15 with some decisions coming earlier.
Please be patient while the admissions committee makes their decision. -
Will applications be accepted after the deadline date?
Late applications will not be accepted. They will be considered, however, for the next admission session. The deadline date for spring applications is October 1st. The deadline date for fall applications is December 1st. -
Can the requirement to submit TOEFL (for applicants whose native language is not English) scores be waived?
