The American Statistical Association (ASA) Section on Statistics in Genomics and Genetics (SSGG) announced the winners of its annual Distinguished Student Paper Award competition in conjunction with the Joint Statistical Meetings. Xiaochen Yang, a PhD student in the Department of Statistics at Purdue University, was recognized as the top awardee for her paper, “Multi-organ imaging-derived polygenic indexes for brain and body health,” coauthored with former Purdue statistics professor Bingxin Zhao.
