Edward R. Shugart III Biography

Edward R. Shugart III is Vice President of Actuarial Management Resources, Inc. in North Carolina. Actuarial Management provides actuarial consulting, management consulting, Third Party Administration services and systems services.

Mr. Shugart has over thirty years of broad management and actuarial experience in all facets of life insurance operations, including product development, valuations, taxes, systems development, and general life management. He previously served as President of Investment Life Insurance Company of America. Other business ventures included a consulting firm, which he formed with a partner.

In 1977 Mr. Shugart was named a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. That same year he also became a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mrs. Kathryn Shugart has her own internet business, Unlimited Learning Resources. Mr. and Mrs. Shugart have 4 children: Billy, Hank, Jenny, and Margaret Dickey (BA 1987 CLA).

While at Purdue, Mr. Shugart was a member of the Purdue Reamer Club.
