DasGupta to Author Two-Volume Book

Professor Anirban DasGupta is writing a two-volume book on probability and its applications. Volume one, entitled Introductory Probability for Diverse Applications, is a text for students in science, engineering, mathematics, and actuarial sciences at the senior level, and for Masters students in statistics, mathematics, and engineering (Table of Contents for Volume 1). Volume two, entitled Concrete Probability Theory for Statistics and Machine Learning, is for PhD students in statistics and computer science. Volume one is expected to be available in print in March, 2010. Both volumes will appear in the Springer Textbook series.
