Alexander Gluhovsky Associate Professor Appointment

Effective January 26, 2007, Alexander Gluhovsky was appointed Associate Professor of Statistics with a joint Associate Professor appointment in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. "This formalizes his long-standing association with the two departments," states Mary Ellen Bock, Department Head and Professor of Statistics. Alexander has been a Visiting Professor in the Department of Statistics since 1996. His association with the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences began in 1992.
Alexander received his Ph.D. from USSR Academy of Sciences in Applied Mathematics in 1973. His research interests include Computational Methods for Statistical Inference, Nonparametric Regression/Density and Models, Resampling, Time Series, as well as Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Turbulence, and Statistics of Extremes in Weather and Climate.
