Book and Lecture Honoring Professor Herman Rubin's Work in Mathematical Statistics

Professor Herman Rubin was officially presented with a volume of works written in his honor on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at an award ceremony in the MATH Library Lounge on the West Lafayette campus of Purdue University. The presenter, Dean Jeffrey Vitter, School of Science, and the editor of the volume, Professor Anirban DasGupta, were introduced by Mary Ellen Bock, Head of the Department of Statistics. The volume is titled "A Festschrift for Herman Rubin", Editor Anirban DasGupta, Volume 45, Institute of Mathematical Statistics, Lecture Notes and Monograph Series, Beachwood, OH, 2004. Also introduced at the ceremony was Professor Larry Brown, University of Pennsylvania, who later gave a Mathematical Statistics lecture in Professor Rubin's honor.
