Data Analysis

Some general guidelines were compiled by Professor Bruce Craig; also see some notes by Professor Bryan Joiner. A rich source of wisdom is in Chapter one of Cox and Snell (1981).
Below are some notes on a few selected technical topics.

Shared below are some data examples.

• Here is a data set with 13 traits and a binary outcome. One may try classification or logistic regression, but a scatter plot matrix shows no pattern.

Follow the guidelines compiled by Professor Craig; a copy of Professor Joiner's handout is here. Also of help is a set of rubrics put together by Professor Craig, though we will not stick to these this semester.
