I was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and hence am a Minnesota Vikings fan.
My family moved to Utah shortly after I was born and I was raised mostly in Salt Lake and the Orem/Provo area.
As a child I enjoyed any game or sport that I could get people to play with me. Although I was a decent student, I
didn't like attending school and barely graduated from high school.
I went to college at Brigham Young University--Hawaii, where I majored in Mathematics. After my freshman year, I took
two years off to do a voluntary mission for my church. Upon returning to BYU-Hawaii, I met my wife, YiChou, who is from Taiwan,
and we were married shortly after.
Upon graduation, I was accepted to Purdue University where I studied Statistics. I finished a Master's degree and worked on
a PHD for a year and a half but did not complete it. During my undergraduate and graduate work we started a family and
now have five children--Girl, Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl!
I now am employed by the Department of Statistics here at Purdue University as a Continuing Lecturer. I enjoy teaching
and can see myself doing it for many years. We enjoy living in West Lafayette and we feel that the community is a great
place to raise our family.
