SAS Information
For Students on Campus:
1. SAS version 8 (or 9) is available on the PCs in ITaP labs.
2. Purdue's SAS license allows any student and staff member to get a
copy of SAS version 8 or 9. You can check out SAS CDs from the staff in
STEW B-14 (please bring your Purdue ID card) and install SAS
on your own machine. For more information, go to the ITap website.
Installation hints: The whole SAS package needs more than 500MB
disk space. The part used in Stat514 takes about 300MB. To keep
your SAS to "only" 300MB: 1). Ignore the CDs titled "Online Doc" and
"Client-Side Components". 2). Say "No" when asked if you want to
install help in "Simple HTML". 3). Choose Custom Installation and only
choose the following components: Base SAS, Core of the SAS system,
SAS/GRAPH, SAS/QC, and SAS/STAT.

you can use to install SAS on your own computer. Please follow the
installation hints given above. Third, as agreed upon by you in the
registration form, you need to return the CDs to Purdue by mailing them back to
Tim during the semester.
