Title: "Long-Read Sequencing with the GS FLX System: Data Processing and Analysis"
Speaker: My-Hanh Thi Nguyen, Ph.D.; Regional Applications Consultant (Bioinformatics), Roche Applied Science
Place: Physics (PHYS) 112; March 2, 2010, Tuesday, 4:30pm

Abstract

In this talk, we will provide an overview of the Roche Genome Sequencer FLX System featuring 454 pyrosequencing, a powerful technology for genetics-based research and other applications. Delving more deeply into data processing, pipeline, and filtering, we will also focus on the GS FLX Linux-based data analysis software packages. These include the GS De Novo Assembler with the newly released cDNA de novo assembly algorithms and annotation tool, as well as GS Reference Mapper and Amplicon Variant Analyzer software. In addition, we will highlight upcoming developments and exciting new applications using Roche next-generation sequencing technology.
