Abstract

In this talk I will give an overview of the type of contributions statistical geneticists make to the process of drug development, with specific examples from my own experience of the past year. I will describe some pharmacogenomics projects in cardiovascular disease and virology that I have been involved with. This talk may be of particular interest to students who are curious about careers in the pharmaceutical industry.
