Abstract

Statistics and quantitative genetics are critical to the success of plant biotechnology and breeding programs. In this presentation commercial R&D pipelines designed to produce crops with increased yield, improved insect and disease protection, and increased tolerance to stress will be described, with emphasis on key statistical contributions to the discovery, testing, and integration of biotech traits into high-quality crops, and the use of molecular markers for the genetic improvement of crops.
