Susceptibility
Testing and Prevalence Estimation
I collaborated with the Antimicrobial Susceptbility Testing
Subcommittee of the National Committee of Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS) 1998-2005 and then the Antimicrobial Susceptibility Subcommittee of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute from 2008-2020. The focus was on ways to improve the current diameter breakpoint determination procedure (modified error-rate bounded method) and monitor resistance prevalence. These papers
summarizes this work. This research was supported in part by NIH (R01
AI48067-01A1).

Protein Structure
Determination
I have been collaborating with Dr. Alan Friedman (Biology, Purdue)
and Dr. Chris Bailey-Kellogg (CS, Dartmouth) on a systematic framework
for inference about structural properties of proteins on the basis of
multimodal experimental data. This research is currently supported by
NSF (5-34001.571).

Disease Modeling
While at Wisconsin, I was fortunate to work with Dennis Fryback
and Ronald and Barbara Klein on a disease modeling project. This led
to my collaboration with Peter Sendi et al. Much of this research is
funded in some part by a NEI small research grant concerning the
modeling of diabetic retinopathy.
