  1. Basics: type I and type II errors; powers of a test and sample size

  2. One-Way Anova: assumptions; diagnostics; transformations; tests on means; contrasts; analysis of covariance

  3. Two-Way Anova: fixed vs. Random effects; crossed treatments; expected mean square algorithm; conservative F-test; Tukey procedure

  4. Completely Randomized Design: rationale for randomization; technique of randomization; analysis of mixed models; pooling procedures

  5. Randomized Complete Block Design: rationale for blocking (control); restriction on randomization; blocks fixed vs. Blocks random; how to allocate observations to increase power
