ACE Clerical Program (Accomplished Clerical Excellence)
This two year program is offered through Purdue University to provide
advanced training. Participants are selected on the basis of performance
and seniority. Design High-Impact Newsletters, Brochures, Ads, Reports,
& Proposals (Certificate, May 1996).

On an ongoing basis utilizes a variety of software
to include: Office 97, Windows 95, NT, Word for Windows, Access, Pagemaker,
Excel, Corel Photo-Paint and designing web pages. Editor of the department
newsletter and produces department brochures using Pagemaker.
- Trains faculty, students, staff and temporary
clerical employees on word processing and use of laser printer. Attends
classes on TeX, LaTeX and other word processing systems.
- Serves as a resource person in solving complex
word processing problems and problems related to UNIX system usage. Serve
as the sole secretary to the Statistical Consulting Service.
- Serves as backup to the Department Head’s secretary,
reserves rooms with Space Management for faculty. Contact person for the
Department of Continuing Engineering Education Televised Courses. Supervises
the departmental work to ensure that it is done on time and in order of
priority.
- Served as secretary to the Graduate Admissions
Committee. I have served as a receptionist and was also responsible for
the distribution, application of postage (international as well as U.S.)
departmental mail. I have also maintained and ordered departmental supplies.
1973-1976

In this position I served as Secretary to the
Vice President, taking dictation, assisting in advertising and sales promotion
efforts. Served as backup to the Insurance Department, Loan Department
and Savings Department. As receptionist, I received customers in person
and by phone.
