There's really not a whole lot to tell about myself. I was born and raised in Crawfordsville, Indiana. In August 1976, I moved to Lafayette and started working at Purdue. I worked in the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing for six years and then transferred to the Department of Statistics in 1982. If you do the math, I've been at Purdue for 26 years. Time sure does fly! By the way, if you happen to need someone with my qualifications, take a look at my resume. I'm always willing to take on projects for extra money or maybe you're my "BIG BREAK".

In 1990, I moved to a small town outside of Lafayette and bought a house two years later. I share my house with Toby, my chow chow. Would you like to see Toby? He is now 10 years old and has always been extremely protective. He tends to be on the agressive side, so visitors "Beware"! Toby and I have a couple of friends we would like you to meet, Sammy and Maggie. Sammy was an Australian Blue Heeler also known as an Australian Cattle Dog. He was loyal and very protective of his owner and tended to be on the jealous side. He always wanted all the attention. It took a while for Toby to warm up to Sammy but they were the best of buddies. Sammy passed over to Rainbow Bridge August 25, 1998, due to a speeding motorist. He is greatly missed. Maggie was a stray that we adopted for a short period of time. Toby only tolerated her so eventually we found a good home for her.

We now have a little boy who has joined our family. Actually he's not so little any more. Tyler is a black labrador retriever who has become a lot of company for Toby. Even though Toby let's him know who's in charge, they have fun together. They have become great buds. Tyler is a bundle of energy currently weighing in at 75 pounds. He will be a year the end of June. He is so much fun that it's hard to imagine the family without him.

Since getting Tyler, we had another dog visit temporarily. A very sweet dog had been found tied to a tree along a busy highway with a sign giving her name. Trixie came to stay with us until a home was found for her.

We lost Toby in May 2002. We believe he had cancer although nothing was ever found. He was just too weak and he was ready to cross over to Rainbow Bridge. It was a hard decision for us to let him go but looking into his eyes we knew it was time. He is truly missed but I know we will meet again some day. Tyler was lost without his buddy. Close to a week after we lost Toby, we had a new addition to our family. Another black chow chow named Tucker. Tyler and Tucker have become the best of buds and are always together. They have so much fun playing and it's hilarious to watch them. Tyler has grown since my last update and now weighs 100 lbs. at 1 1/2 years. Tucker is one year old. He's a stout little boy and weighs around 50 lbs.
