Execution:If your MBA invironment contains an alias runmba as mentioned in installation, and if the parameter setting file is mba.inp, you can run the program by typing runmba mba.inp &from the directory that contains the four required input files. The program requires a lot of computing power and is most efficient when run on multiple processors. In our lab we routinely analyze large data sets using 10 to 30 processors simultaneously. The only requirement for the processors is a shared file system. To run the program on a second processor of a same computer call the program from the directory for the second time. To run the program from a different computer you need to log on, switch to the same directory and call MBA again. All the executions will exchange information using records in the file mappings.log. The executions can be interrupted any time, and subsequently restarted from the point where they were left. The interrupted executions will be automatically initialized from the file mappings.log. To restart the executions from scratch, remove or rename the file mappings.log |
