Unlikly Wall, April 2003

I'd heard about some outdoor climbing in Bloomington, so I figured I'd check it out. I managed to convince Kelly and Tony to come with. We also brought along a 4th, Cami. Kelly and Tony are both indoor climbers, but this was their first outdoor experience.

Unlikely Wall is a road-cut on HW 37. We were a little disoriented and took the approach on the east side of HW 37. That's the wrong side. You want to be on the west side of 37. Here's a good list and picture of most of the routes there. There's also some intresting stuff there to boulder too.

Kelly's first outdoor climb on "Honk if yer horny".

Still trying. No one ended up red-pointing it.

I think this is "Femme Fatal", featuring me.

I'm catching Tony. I don't know what route this is, but you can see the road-cut scars.

Once again, not sure what route this is.

We ended the day rapping off the top. There was a nice approach to the top-rope achors, so we did it more than once. All told, it wasn't such a bad day of climbing.

All the photos, really big.
