Title: Statistics and Biotechnology

Abstract

This introductory talk focuses on basic statistical issues associated with the technology for gene expression data. Many of the issues arise with the analysis of protein production data as well. The technology is rapidly changing and several alternatives to the microchip technology are discussed. No extensive background in statistics or biology is assumed.
