SAS SPSS Minitab

The SCS Software Help Office is in room G175 in the Math Building. It is open during Summer Semester from June 11-August 3, 2007 during the above listed times. It is closed on official university holidays. The Software Help Office provides assistance with the set up and running of a wide variety of statistical computing programs, including:

SAS
SAS is extensive software system that can be used for many types of statistical analysis. It is available at Purdue University on Instructional Lab PCs and also on UNIX. If you are starting out with SAS, consider using the PC version, as the on-line help is excellent.
SPSS
SPSS is widely used in the social sciences and also can be used for many types of statistical analysis. It is available on Instructional Lab PCs and also on UNIX. The PC version interfaces with Microsoft products and its presentation format is excellent. The online help is also very good.
Minitab
Minitab is widely used for courses that require data analysis and manipulation. The Stat Lab offers quick-start Minitab classes each semester.
S-Plus
S-Plus is a PC application that is used for some courses on campus. It has excellent graphing capabilities.
There is also some useful on-line documentation available to help you move data from one program or machine to another.
