Rau Receives Honorable Mention for Gertrude M. Cox Scholarship
Andrea Rau Rau, born in North Dakota, received her B.A. in Mathematics and French from Saint Olaf College, Minnesota in 2005. She earned an M.S. in Applied Statistics from Purdue University in May 2007 and is currently a fifth year Ph.D. student. She is currently working with Professor Rebecca W. Doerge and Professors Florence Jaffrézic and Jean-Louis Foulley (INRA at Jouy-en-Josas, France). Rau's current research involves inferring gene regulatory networks from microarray gene expression data. While at Purdue, Rau has worked as a consultant for the Technical Assistance Program (TAP) and the Statistical Consulting Service, a contributing author for the Departmental website, and a lab instructor for STAT 30100. She also served as a Project Manager and Network Outreach Coordinator for StatCom, a volunteer community outreach organization that provides professional statistical consulting services to governmental and nonprofit groups free of charge.
