The Department of Statistics hosted an Alumni and Friends reception at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC on August 2, 2009 during the
2009 Joint Statistical Meetings. Approximately 50 alumni and friends attended the reception.
Rebecca Doerge, Interim Head during 2008-2009, provided a "year at a glance" report and updated the group about the Department's activities.
Mary Ellen Bock, Department of Statistics Head, shared the Department's plans for the future and
George P. McCabe, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Science, gave the group updates on the College of Science Strategic Plan. The Department looks forward to gathering again with our alumni and friends at the
2010 Joint Statistical Meetings in Vancouver, British Columbia. See you there!
