World Statistics Day to be Observed October 20, 2010

The United Nations has proclaimed October 20, 2010 (designated in many countries as 20.10.2010) as World Statistics Day in order to recognize the importance of statistics in government, business, and community decision-making. The UN hopes the observance will help raise awareness and strengthen the public's faith in national and international statistics organizations. Activities are planned in many countries around the world, including a breakfast briefing and open house on Capitol Hill in the US.
