Scholarships and fellowships help attract the most promising students to Purdue Statistics. Competition for the brightest undergraduate and graduate prospects is intense, and merit-based awards help bring some of the best students in the world to Purdue. These awards can also be needs-base, helping defray educational costs for qualified students with significant financial need.
Faculty
The department’s faculty members are not only producing research that has a positive impact on our world, they touch the lives of students in the classroom. Support directed to faculty for endowed chairs, research funds, and research assistants enable Purdue to recruit and retain highly recognized scholars and teachers.
Endowment
Creating an endowment or contributing to an existing endowment is one way for a donor to have a lasting influence on the Department of Statistics. In an endowment, the principle gift is invested and a proportion of the interest generated annually is allocated to the cause. Endowments can be created to help fund a variety of causes including scholarships, fellowships, new equipment, and faculty research.
