VIGRE Seminar Fall 2001

Department of Mathematics and Department of Statistics
MA/STAT 598V: VIGRE Seminar: Explore Statistics and Mathematics Research

Wednesdays, 4:30 PM, REC 112 This special seminar series is designed to introduce new graduate students as well as upper-class undergraduate majors in statistics and mathematics to different faculty active in research in the Department of Statistics and in the Department of Mathematics. Each week a different faculty member presents a talk at the undergraduate level to introduce students to different areas of research.

The series is also offered as a one credit course STAT 598V (or MA 598V). The instructor/coordinator is Professor M.E. Bock. For further information please contact Professor Bock by email at mbock@stat.purdue.edu or by phone at 765-494-3141.

The first talk on Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at 4:30 PM in REC 112 is by Professor Bock entitled "Introduction to the Daubechies D4 Wavelet".
