At Purdue, students earn "distinction" based on their overall grade point average. Students earn "honors" by taking honors programs in their major subject. The designation "Statistics Honors" may be awarded at commencement to students who have completed the Mathematical Statistics Major and with at least three of these course substitutions (average GPA in the three courses must be a 3.50): MA 44000 for MA 34100; MA 44200 or 51000 for 36200; STAT 51600 for STAT 41600; STAT 51700 for STAT 41700.
