Non-Degree Seeking Graduate Students

Graduate Certificate

The Department of Statistics offers a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics. It is intended for students who already have a bachelor's degree in some field and who are not enrolled in the Statistics M.S. or Ph.D. program. (Certificate students are often enrolled in a graduate program other than Statistics.) This four-course program provides and documents formal expertise in statistics at the graduate level beyond introductory regression courses. Furthermore, the four courses can be used as part of an MS program in Statistics.

Background courses, or equivalent, necessary for admission to the Certificate Program of the Department of Statistics are STAT 51100 and STAT 51200. Equivalency of background courses is determined by the Chair of the Graduate Committee (graduate@stat.purdue.edu). For substitution approval, please contact the Chair of the Graduate Committee at graduate@stat.purdue.edu.

The four required courses for the Certificate are given below: (Substitutions of STAT courses numbered above 517 may be approved. Credit for at least two of the four courses must be received while enrolled in the Graduate Certificate Program.)
